The Selvi is a handwoven wicker basket for a modular kitchen pull-out, sized 18 x 18 inches (width x depth). It keeps onions, potatoes and everyday vegetables airy and organised inside your kitchen cabinet, and is made by hand in India.

  • Material: Handwoven wicker on a beechwood frame
  • Size (W x D): 18 x 18 inch. The width includes the side channel, so usable space inside is slightly less
  • Height: 4, 6 or 8 inch
  • Partition: Plain or single partition
  • Fitting: Slides out on the cabinet's side channels, with a pull handle and locking system
  • Load: About 2 to 5 kg per compartment
  • Colour: Natural Beige
  • Finish: Hand-finished natural polish

Which size do I need?

Measure the inside width and depth of your cabinet, from inner wall to inner wall, not the shutter. Those two numbers are the size to buy. This basket fits a cabinet about 18 x 18 inches inside. Onions, potatoes and moisture

The open weave lets air move around onions and potatoes, which keeps them fresher than a closed box. A partition keeps the two apart, because onions give off moisture that makes potatoes sprout sooner.
